Our trip to Scarborough!!

Today we set off on a journey to sunny Scarborough for our trip linking to our seaside topic!!! Although it wasn't quite warm or dry enough for a paddle, we still had lots of fun and saw lots of interesting things!!!

The Story Of The Ugly Sharkling

Next week we are going to be watching The Story of The Ugly Sharkling by Maia Walczak. We will be having a go at writing persuasive pieces to persuade someone which animal should be your best friend and why (like Harry the spider) and also playscripts to show dialogue between little

A Story In The Garden...

This afternoon Miss Coomber very kindly oferd to take you all to the school garden to have milk and a story! It was a lovely afternoon and a shame not to be outside!!

Yesterday, on World Environment Day, we had an assembly allabout recycliand we now have new orange recycling boxes in our class for clean, dry paper, cardboard, plastic and metal.

World Environment Day! 5th June 2013

Wednesday 5th June is World Environment Day!
 
This year the theme is Think.Eat.Save and we had an assembly today to think about how we can waste less food and look after our environment by encouraging our grown ups to buy locally produced food and farm shops etc.

Volume, Capacity and Measuring

Next week in maths we are going to be learning about measuring.
We will be working outside in the playground measuring with metre sticks, trundle wheels and tape measures.

We will be working inside measuring volume and capacity with a range of standard and non-standard containers.

We will also be weighing objects using scales and recording the weight of them to compare.

To be able to measure accurately, we need to understand how to read various scales and units of measure. This will be the focus of our activities this week.
